ATXNG is a set of bench notes kept in public. It is not a review site, it sells nothing, and it has no affiliation with any board or component vendor.

Method

Every procedure published here was run end to end on the rig described in Bench before it was written up. Where a note reports a measurement, the instrument and the conditions are named alongside it. Where a note declines to report a number — which is often — it is because the value is a property of an individual sample and publishing it would invite someone to type it into a firmware setup page on hardware it was never measured on.

Corrections

Firmware changes underneath these notes constantly. An AGESA revision moves a default, a vendor blocks a knob that worked last month, a tool changes a flag. When something no longer behaves as written, mail notes@atxng.com with the note, the exact step, and what your machine did instead. Corrections are folded into the note and its revision date moves.

On risk

Several of these procedures can leave a board unbootable, and one of them involves clipping a programmer onto a live SPI flash. The notes say so where it applies, once, in plain terms. They assume you can decide for yourself whether to proceed.
